Wild Wings Golf Course Celebrates Fourth Annual Player Development Month

KemperSports and Wild Wings Golf Course launch #PDMonth – will offer complimentary golf lessons and other activities to beginners or people re-entering the game at all KemperSports properties

Woodland, CA, May 12, 2017 – Wild Wings Golf Course and KemperSports announced today that they will host their fourth annual Player Development Month during the month of June. The month-long celebration of golf is built to introduce and re-introduce golfers as we share our passion for the sport. To commemorate the month-long celebration, Wild Wings will offer free 15-minute lessons, on Monday Tuesday and Wednesday evenings from staff instructors to all new golfers. In addition to the free lessons, Wild Wings will offer:

  • On Monday Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons beginning at 5:00pm, 3 hole golf events will be held beginning at 5:00pm, designed to allow new golfers an introduction into the game.
  • Tied to the USGA, Play 9 Program, weekend “family Scrambles” will be held on Saturdays and Sundays beginning at 5:30 pm.
  • On Monday evenings beginning at 4:00PM, Senior/Junior events will be held, utilizing different formats.
  • Junior Camps begin on June 12 and and will run through August 12th.

The inaugural celebration, which started in 2014, saw more than 3,500 interactions with new golfers at more than 125 KemperSports courses across the country. That number nearly doubled through 2016 by interacting with 8,000 new golfers and more than 20,000 touches on social media. Given the expansion of the program, KemperSports is hoping to grow that number and share our passion for golf with as many as possible.

KemperSports’ Player Development Month is a proprietary initiative built to provide tools and best practices to a portfolio of more than 125 public, private and resort golf courses around the country. The program is geared to deliver innovative ways to reach an entire demographic of non-golfers.

“As avid golfers ourselves, we are passionate about the game of golf,” said general manager Randy Thomas. “#PDMonth gives us the opportunity to share of love of the game and hopefully introduce the game to a generation of non-golfers.”

With the belief that golf is not only our job, but our passion, Wild Wings Golf Course takes personal pride in its mission to help grow the game and share our love of the sports with new and former golfers. Guests at Wild Wings are encouraged to use the hashtag #PDMonth to show their support of the program and their love of the game of golf.
